Established in 1990, the purpose of the Alma Newlin Educational Fund is to encourage and assist residents of Southern Chester County to prepare for and gain employment in healthcare-related fields. One-time undergraduate scholarships based on academic achievement are awarded annually. As of 2009, one additional grant for post-graduate education may be considered at the discretion of the selection committee.

Applicants are able to apply for the Alma Newlin scholarship using a new online submission process.
